Founders of the Business

Charles S. Dewar, Partner

Charles S. Dewar is a stone mason and site manager for Corronoher Stone & Design, LLC. Mr. Dewar grew up in Ballingarry, County Limerick, Ireland in his family's 200-year old castle, where he developed his love of stone structures and all things stone. His particular interests are fabrication of unique pieces and letter cutting.

Mr. Dewar has an extensive background in fabrication, restoration and general stone masonry through a Central Kentucky stone masonry company where he got his start. There, Mr. Dewar spearheaded the stone fabrication and custom hand-lettering of that business and worked on noteworthy projects such as fabricating stone steps for the renovation of the Old Governor's Mansion in Frankfort, Kentucky. He also fabricated stone steps and foundation pieces for historic property renovations in Kentucky. He is the only known stone mason in Kentucky who practices hand-cut lettering in stone for signs, memorials, etc.

The company's present client list includes luxury and custom home builders in the Lexington, Kentucky area, as well as owners of private historic homes and landmark Kentucky Thoroughbred farms. He also works extensively with well-respected landscape architects in the Central Kentucky area.

Sallie T. Dewar, Managing Partner

Mrs. Dewar graduated from Columbia College, a women's college in South Carolina, and holds a bachelor's degree in English. She has worked as a television sports reporter and as a radio News Director in South Carolina. Mrs. Dewar has been a corporate/litigation paralegal since 1993 and has incorporated these work experiences into her role as managing partner of the company.

In 2006 she completed the Women & Minorities in Construction program sponsored by the Small Business Development Center through the University of Kentucky as part of her continuing education in the field of general construction.
